After wrapping up their day on a film set, Liboria and Claudia stop at a deserted gas station and accidentally fill their van with the wrong fuel. When another car arrives, Liboria notices that the driver resembles an aggressor involved in a past incident with her friend. Liboria wants to leave, but Claudia decides to take the driver hostage.

Director’s note:
This story originates from a personal experience of a night out in Helsinki, where a taxi attempted to kidnap my friend after dropping me off. I've been in other situations where I felt harassed or threatened, yet I wasn't responsive enough at the moment. This has brewed a sense of guilt and frustration within me, which I aim to channel into a tender vengeful outburst.

At this point, the question whether he is guilty or not, becomes irrelevant. I like the use of "the film set" as a device to amplify and construct a fantastical and artificial world within reality. This film takes place in the uncertain transition between where the characters 'have been' and where they are going': physically, emotionally and metaphorically.

Peppermint Diesel 20% is a short fiction born from the desire to use storytelling to re-enact personal and collective fantasies surrounding unresolved situations fueled by a thirst for vengeance. In this narrative, one man could redeem the others by sacrificially embracing a romantic-queer incarnation of eager Jesus, leading to an orchestrated consensual act of revenge.
