The panel Beyond Walls: Places of Memory and New Horizons features Sonja Bezjak and Franco Perazza presenting plans for the transformation of Gorizia’s Basaglia Park and the Museum of Madness in Trate—former psychiatric institutions now redefining themselves as open spaces.

The discussion will be followed by a screening of the short film The Blue Horse of Desire (Modri konj želja, 2026) by Staša Prah, Jakob Vogrinec, and Ciril Zupan, documenting the journey of the iconic Marco Cavallo sculpture, an enduring symbol of the mental health deinstitutionalization movement.
