Beyond the Big Screen: Events in the Extra Program
Cinema is not just film screenings, but an all-round experience to be lived and shared. From September 29 to October 4, 2026, the cross-border film festival Poklon viziji / Omaggio a una visione animates Gorizia and Nova Gorica with a rich lineup of side events, workshops, gatherings, and social moments designed for audiences of all ages.

Discovering the Magic Lantern
Led by Angela Montagner
A fascinating journey to the origins of moving images, discovering the ancestor of cinema. In this creative workshop, the little ones will explore the mechanics and magic of the magic lantern, creating their own hand-decorated "slide" and experiencing the thrill of projecting their drawings onto the wall to see them come to life in large format.

The program is enriched with moments of meeting and socialization, including lunches in the company of festival guests at Borgo Cinema and engaging DJ sessions at the Epicenter that will celebrate the atmosphere of this edition.

"City on the border" Exhibition
An exhibition recounting the memories and experiences of the inhabitants of Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
Admission is free on Sundays, while on other days it is available at a reduced price of 5 €.
Special Installation: "Liebestraum" by Jan Devetak
In collaboration with the Frontiere Festival (a Crossroads project by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia), a special installation will take place at Borgo Cinema from Friday to Sunday. Between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, visitors will be able to watch Jan Devetak's short film Liebestraum, dedicated to the story of Nora Gregor.
Actress Nora Gregor dies at the age of forty-seven in her final exile in Santiago, Chile, three weeks after learning of her mother's death. It is January 20, 1949. A second later, she opens her eyes and finds herself in Gorizia in 2025. The film is part of the collective feature Naš vsakdanji kino, produced by Kinoatelje and included in the official GO!2025 program.
