Biography
Jan Cvitkovič—archaeologist, screenwriter, actor, director, and poet—was born in 1966. He spent his youth in Tolmin and Idrija, where he completed high school. He then enrolled in the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Ljubljana (majoring in physics). After one year, he abandoned his studies and embarked on a journey through Israel, Egypt, and East Africa, during which he supported himself with odd jobs. Upon returning to Slovenia, he began studying archaeology, which he completed in 1999. During his studies, he noticed a screenplay contest in 1995, where he won the Grossman Award, the highest Slovenian screenplay award, with "The Heist of the Century."
