Motivation
In the film "Granny's Revolution," Petra Seliškar inscribes her own family's present and past, seeking motives for them in the processes of Yugoslav and broader world revolutions. She presents her experience in an original narrative and through unique testimonies. The hallmark of her authorial approach is an unburdened and exploratory attitude towards the past, her family, social, and political environment. The author originally combines her humorous view, which is particularly evident in the excellent editing and use of film archival material, with the perspective on history and society that her interlocutors had. She aligns her narrative with the universal human endeavor for a better life for themselves and their offspring. She advocates for the fight for a better world, even though the time of revolutions has already ended.
