Director's statement:

“Everything in its Right Place” is a personal film about the destruction of a family, and finally the bonding between a mother and a daughter. The film is inspired by my and Nadja, the writer's mothers. We wanted to present the mother figure on the screen, not just as a mother, but as a woman, full of lust of life, but unable to manifest it. In the beginning of the film, the daughter only sees her mother as a mother, but trough the film, they both grow, and are finally able to see each other for who they really are, p.e. not just a mother figure, but a real person, with real problems, desires, and contradictions.

We wanted to show the history of a destruction of a family, trough one day, one family reunion, going through the good and the bad times. The surroundings, and the atmosphere of the film were very important to us, especially to highlight the social struggle that they face, and how they manage to go past it, and enjoy life to the fullest.
