Lindi Dedek
Lindi Dedek is a Czech-German filmmaker, performer and poet. Since 2022, Lindi has curated the short film program at Neisse Film Festival in the Czech-German-Polish border region. Lindi studied film production and screenwriting at FAMU and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, as well as experimental filmmaking at Schule Friedl Kubelka and comical acting at Ecole Philippe Gaulier. They also hold an MA in Gender Studies. Recipient of fellowships such as Robert-Bosch German-Arab Prize, GLEN (Benin) and Deconfining (Tanzania, Poland). Lindi's prose and poetry have been published in international magazines and anthologies (among others Arc Poetry, Filling Station, Aji). Besides various film festivals, their work (most recently the installation Not like other trees) has been presented or is forthcoming at international galleries and theaters such as Plato Ostrava, Survival Art Festival in Wroclaw or Nafasi Art Space in Dar es Salaam. In their free time, Lindi enjoys dancing ballet (badly) and eating cake (well).
